Mezcal Derrumbes Durango is made from wild Agave Durangensis (locally called Cenizo) by Maestro Mezcalero Uriel Simental in Durango — the most northeastern state in the Mezcal Denomination of Origin.
Produced the traditional way with a horno de tierra, natural fermentation, and small-scale distillation in copper pot stills. The profile is fruity and zinging — tropical fruit, pomelo citrus, and tamarind underpinned by a little smokiness and pine.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Pepper-sprinkled strawberries, candied lime peel, freshly rubbed mint, soy sauce
Palate: Fresh minty notes, chocolate, savory umami; green leafy notes, sweet cooked agave, granny smith apple
Finish: Mint fading to mineral notes and sugary sweetness; fruit and pepper remain
