Cascahuin 48 Plata is produced at Cascahuin Distillery (NOM 1123) in El Arenal, Jalisco — one of the oldest and most respected traditional tequila producers in the Lowlands. Bottled at still strength (48% ABV) without dilution or filtration, honoring the legacy of founder Salvador Rosales Briseño. From 100% Blue Weber agave grown in the volcanic soils of El Arenal, cooked in traditional hornos and double-distilled in copper pot stills.
The 48% ABV still-strength bottling is significant: most blanco tequila is proofed down to 40% before bottling. By bottling at natural distillation strength, Cascahuin 48 preserves the full agave character and the volatile aromatic compounds that dilution and filtration would diminish. The result is a Lowlands blanco with unusual density and complexity — cooked agave, citrus, pepper, and mineral earth at full intensity.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Cooked agave, citrus peel, white pepper, and volcanic mineral. Palate: Rich and dense — roasted agave, green citrus, and spice at full proof. Finish: Long, peppery, and mineral with lasting agave.
